The Precepts, Heard In Student Voice
St. John's already wrote down what it values. Each line on the left is the School's own language. On the right is what IMPACTER listens for when a student tells a story.

I've always been interested in mental health and supporting others, so I began applying for hotlines and volunteering my time to genuinely help people, not for money or any other gain.
What The Precepts Sound Like
Every score starts with something a student said. Press play and follow along: the transcript lights up word by word, and each marker on the timeline is a move the rubric heard. Shown by class only.
I show up everyday as a fighter for my life, with empathy and honesty. People seem to feel safe around me. They tell me things. I respect them and care for them. I try to.
…I've found it's best to be honest and explain the root of the issue and how I view the problem without it turning into an argument.
And it's just important to understand where they're coming from and their concerns that they might have, but then also teach them the correct way how to do it.
Now, I'm a senior and honestly, it's so much easier now because I practice, and I haven't given up…
…His kindness inspired me to help people who need it, and to be thankful for what I have.

What St. John's Can Do With This
Specific uses, starting the week the spring results arrive.
Advisory And Chapel
Advisors see each student's strongest precept and one to grow, with the student's own words to open the conversation. Chapel talks can quote students, by class, with no names.
College Counseling
Counselors get each senior's strongest stories of care, integrity and service, in the student's own words, ready for recommendation letters.
Board And Strategic Plan
Six numbers with denominators, fall and spring, year over year. The precepts become something the Board can track, not just recite.
Admissions
Show families what a St. John's education builds beyond the 34 ACT median: students who serve because they choose to.
Parent Conferences
A one-page portrait per student in the School's own language: what they said, where it landed, and what comes next. See the sample.
ISAS Accreditation
Student voice evidence for the self-study, organized by precept, division and class, instead of assembled by hand.
